Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao criticised the leaders of the Reddy community for allegedly opposing the Cabinet berths given to Kapu leaders during the recent expansion of the state Cabinet.
Talking to media persons after contacting the Congress In-Charge Of State Affairs at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Sunday, V Hanumantha Rao condemned the Reddy community's allegation that the latter does not have proper representation in the Council of Ministers.
Stating that there was no truth in the accusations, he said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had given all communities proper representation in his Cabinet.
Hanumantha Rao said that the Chief Minister must reshuffle and expand his council of ministers again after the Assembly by-elections in the state.
He added the party should reward committed leaders who work to win the by-elections, with ministerial berths.
The Rajya Sabha MP also claimed that he had never objected to giving ministerial posts to PRP leaders.
Stating that SCs and STs are a permanent vote-bank for the Congress party, he said that the government must not neglect them during the next Cabinet expansion. (INN)
