The TRS government was ready to face anything if the Andhra Pradesh government proved its allegations of the involvement of Telangana officials in the "note-for-vote" episode, Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat on Monday, the minister said that the state government was not shying away from taking on the AP government if the latter went ahead with its plans to retaliate with false cases.
"Let them prove the alleged involvement of our officials, and we will see what happens then," he said.
When journalists insisted that he react to the AP ministers' repeated threats of taking serious action against Telangana officials, Reddy said, "We will see what they will do."
Asked whether the Telangana government had compromised on the issue and was soft-pedalling on slapping notices on AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the Home Minister denied that, and said that the law would take its own course in the case.
He also refuted news reports that it had asked the ACB not to slap notices on Chandrababu Naidu. The ACB would go on with its investigation after the forensic lab reports of the tapes came in, to issue notices to those who were involved in the case, he said.
"We will not let off any bigwigs involved in the case, irrespective of their stature," he said, adding that everyone was the same before the law. (NSS)
