Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali today appealed to the Muslims of the state to perform Namaz in their residences during the Ramzan period.
The minister was speaking after supervising the disinfectant sprinkling work undertaken by the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department at Charminar on Sunday.
Mahmood Ali supervised the program along with the local MLA, and fire and police officials.
The minister reiterated that there was no medicine or vaccine for the coronavirus, and that implementation of and adherence to a lockdown was the best solution. He requested the Muslims to therefore respect the lockdown and perform Namaz in the coming Ramzan season in their own houses.
He asserted that the state government was taking all the necessary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said that the public should cooperate wholeheartedly to help the police implement the lockdown.
Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, MLA, Charminar; Sanjay Kumar Jain, Director General, Fire Services; V Papaiah, Regional Fire Officer; and other fire department officers too participated in the program.
The Ramzan month starts on April 25.
