As a part of the week-long celebrations on the occasion of the Raising Day of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), South Central Railway, from September 20th to 26th, a blood donation program was organised on Tuesday at Railway Central Hospital, Lallaguda, in Secunderabad.
The program was inaugurated by Inspector General cum Chief Security Commission (RPF) B Mohan, South Central Railway, who applauded the members of the Force for donating blood and displaying their human face to the society.
A total of 34 personnel donated blood led by Senior Divisional Security Commissioner AN Sinha, RPF (Secunderabad).
Medical Director B Sudhakar, and Blood Bank In-Charge N Krishna Veni, Railway Hospital, made arrangements for the program.
The RPF Raising Day is celebrated every year on September 20th, the day on which the Railway Protection Force was given the status of Armed Force of the Union through an Act of Parliament.
It was vested with additional powers in the year 2003 by amending the RPF and Railway Acts. The force is also the recipient of Presidential Colours in the year 2005, in recognition of its services.
