The RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a mini-ratna enterprise of the Indian Railways, is providing broadband Internet access using its country-wide optic fiber cable network laid along the railway tracks.
The organisation has the necessary equipment at all railway stations.
RailTel is providing the broadband services on a revenue share basis via the local internet cable industry, who will help provide the last-mile connectivity. The service is intended to offer stable & high-quality internet services to the public at competitive rates.
Currently there are more than 1,500 customers availing themselves of the services in the state, according to a press release.
In this connection, RailTel is organising publicity meetings in Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana for the benefit of both the customers and the Annual Network Providers (local cable operators), to provide the necessary information about the technology and the benefits involved.
The publicity campaign will be held in Kamareddy on 25th January from 11 am, and will offer clarity on the benefits and the technical issues involved, and also facilitate the signing of the partnership agreements.
