The State government instructed district administrations to take all possible measures to protect the interests of the farmers in respect of the Minimum Support Price offered to them in view of a bumper Rabi crop production.
Addressing media persons at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy said that the government was taking effective steps for 'preparedness' to envisage a MSP as desired by farmers.
The district machinery has been instructed to ensure that procurement was effected to the advantage of the farmers, he said.
District level officials, including MLAs and ZP Chairmen, among others, will review the situation on the 'preparedness' for protecting the farmers' interests on October 30 at all district centres.
Similarly, on 2 and 3 November, MPPC, ZPPC, MLAs and others will discuss the issue.
The minister revealed that he had asked officials to ensure that sowing in the Godavari delta is completed. He also directed the officials that they arrange for securing loans for farmers so that they can buy seeds and fertilisers in time.
Besides, the government is set to provide 7 hours of free electricity per day to the farmers.
Earlier, top officials here held a video conference and interacted with the district officials for addressing farmers' problems, as well as to take remedial measures in time to avoid inconveniences.
