To accomodate the wave of Sri Satya Sai Baba's followers flocking Puttaparthi to view his mortal remains, officials have decided to extend the time frame for the 'darshan' of his body till 12am tonight.
This announcement comes as a relief to the devotees who have rushed to Puttaparthi from all over the world. The authorities have clarified that no more devotees would be allowed to enter the town this evening, and that only those who have already queued up in the town (in a line that runs upto 2 km in length) would be allowed to proceed towards Baba's physical remains.
Meanwhile, his frenzied followers are seeking an answer to their need for a spiritual guide. On the day of Baba's demise, a devotee had claimed that Baba had visited him in his dreams and told him that he would be back from the dead 3 days later - a claim that might have had its origin from the fact that saviors have been cited to arise from the dead since 3000 BC all over the world.
Today, a woman claimed that Baba had graced her dreams and informed her that he would return to his body on May 14th.
While Baba's devotees grasp at straws awaiting a new spiritual head, astrologers are debating whether the cremation or the burial of Baba's remains would be conductive of 'loka kalyanam'.
Regardless of all the speculations surrounding Satya Sai Baba, arrangements are on to bury him between 9am and 10am tomorrow, and devotees will be allowed to have a 'darshan' of his 'samadhi' from 12 noon onwards.
The members of the Sri Satya Sai Central Trust are expected to convene a press conference after Baba's burial tomorrow.
