Following the questions being raised about the truckloads of money being secretively hauled away from Puttaparthi, and the integrity of the Sathya Sai Trust members, the late Puttaparthi Sai Baba's nephew J Ratnakar on Sunday claimed that the money was being sent to construct a maha samadhi of Sathya Sai Baba.
"This money was being sent for the construction of a Maha Samadhi of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba," he told the media.
He also said he knew about the money. When told that the police seem to believe that it is unaccounted money, he stated that it is indeed accounted money from donors.
Ratnakar was one of the member of the Trust who were summoned by the police for questioning over the cash being transported to Bangalore. He said that the police interrogation was not difficult as the Trust was not trying to hide anything.
He also said that the Sathya Sai Trust is the most impeccable and transparent trust in the world.
"No one has ever done service to mankind as the Sri Sathya Sai Trust has," he claimed.
He also appealed to the millions of Sathya Sai devotees around the world not to believe the allegations of misappropriation against the Trust, saying that the accusations were being made by vested interests in order to malign the Trust.
