Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, after reviewing the health reports of Puttaparthi Sathya Sai Baba on Tuesday, expressed hope that the spiritual leader would recover shortly.
The Chief Minister has reportedly cancelled his trip to Puttaparthi for various reasons, but primarily to avoid infecting Sai Baba who has already been admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Medical experts from all over the country and the United States had already arrived at Puttaparthi and had been monitoring the health condition of Satya Sai Baba, who continues to stay in the ICU.
Major Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy has already camped in Puttaparthi to oversee the medical treatment being administered to Baba by the Sai Seva Trust. She is understood to have told mediapersons that Satya Sai Baba had opened his eyes and had called for the 'Harathi' ritual.
The Chief Minister, after reviewing Satya Sai Baba's health with top officials, directed Principal Health Secretary P V Ramesh and Special Chief Secretary L V Subramanyam to immediately rush to Puttaparthi to stay there and to take necessary steps until Baba's recovery.
Both the officers had been told to coordinate with the Sai Seva Trust and to see that there was no communication gap in the government's assistance.
Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, who was part of the Chief Minister's review meeting, later told mediapersons that the government was hopeful of Baba's recovery, and appealed to the public not to take credence of any rumours regarding Satya Sai Baba's health.

"The government will issue 2 medical bulletins daily to update the people on the health condition of Sai Baba," Raghuveera Reddy said.
"Except for the kidney problem, every aspect of Satya Sai Baba's health is quite normal," said Ratnakar, son of Sai Baba's brother.
Reddy added that the Chief Minister had planned to visit Puttaparthi, but had postponed this program keeping in view the possible spread of infection.
"However, the Chief Minister will continue to monitor the situation from his Camp Office," he emphasized.
Besides, Dr. Ashok Kumar's team - medical experts from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and the United States - have been camping in Puttaparthi for the last 2 days, and have been monitoring Sai Baba's condition minute by minute.
