Telangana Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said that the people of the nation and the state were "getting ready to give a shock to the BJP-led Centre" as they had been burdened by the skyrocketing fuel and gas charges and were fed up of the regime's "anti-development policies".
Talking to the press about the matter, he claimed that the Modi government had duped the people by hiking fuel and gas prices and charging high taxes.
"The Centre has failed to provide any financial support to flagship programs of our state, like the Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya projects. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has been making many false claims regarding the state government for political reasons. However, he should remember that it was not the TRS regime but the BJP-led Centre that failed to extend any support to the state despite the recommendations made by the Niti Ayog," Reddy thundered.
He also hit out at the MPs of the saffron party for having "double standards" on the matter of development, and added, "Though the BJP makes tall claims about bringing development to the state, it has never been able to secure any funds for any projects. The leaders of the party speak in forked tongues - one way in Parliament and another outside. The people are vexed by the anti-development policies of the Centre as they have seen how BJP leaders hinder welfare schemes and development programs in the state. I challenge these leaders to take part in a debate against us regarding the TRS manifesto and that of the BJP to examine proposals pertaining to development and welfare."
"All the Centre has done is to burden people with skyrocketing fuel and gas charges and the escalation of the prices of various essential commodities. It is not even releasing taxes owed to the state on time. The people will teach a lesson to the BJP government though it's leaders have taken a some padayatra to win the public over," the minister claimed
