City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Wednesday imposed prohibitory orders in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for nearly a week. You know why. Hint: think December 6.
The Commissioner has imposed a ban on all kinds of public meetings and processions within Hyderabad, and the concerned Zonal DCP (Law and Order), the concerned ACP (Law and Order), the Joint Commissioner of Police (Co-ordination & Security) or the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, will need to be approached for any exceptions. The carrying of arms including swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags, bludgeons, guns, explosives and other offensive weapons is also prohibited.
The Commissioner has also prohibited the gathering of persons on public roads and public places disturbing peace and order or causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to the public.
The collection and carrying of stones or other means of casting missiles is also banned.
There will also be a ban on the use of mikes / public address systems around the Secretariat premises, including the Burgula Rama Krishna Rao building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, A P Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Gardens, Upper Tank Bund, Prasads, Rotary Circle and NTR Marg, as also on the flyover leading from the Secretariat to the Visweswarayya statue, Khairatabad.
Music, singing, speeches and broadcasts through loud speakers in the above mentioned areas are also prohibited.
The Commissioner also imposed a ban on the use of mikes / public address systems and vehicle horns by any organisation and members of the public in these areas.
Mahender Reddy said that any person violating the above orders would be liable for prosecution under the Hyderabad City Police Act.
These prohibitory orders will be in force with effect from 6 AM on December 4 to 6 AM on December 10. (INN)
