Andhra- and Telangana-based professors T Gopalakrishna and C Balaram Kishan, who were rescued from the dreaded terrorist group ISIS in Libya recently by the United States Army in coordination with the Ministry Of External Affairs (India), arrived at the Hyderabad airport today at 4 am. They were accompanied by the officials of the MEA.
Still in a state of shock and trauma, the two victims refused to answer the questions posed by the media, but said that they would speak once they had composed themselves. When further grilled by the scribes, they said that the MEA had asked them not to speak until further directions.
For those who came in late, the ISIS had kidnapped Gopalakrishna and Kishan in 2015 along with two other Indians hailing from Karnataka. The four were working as Professors at the Sirte University in Libya. The terrorists had released the two teachers from Karnataka much before the release of the Telugu professors.
Although it is not clear why they were kidnapped in the first place, it is being speculated that the professors were forced to teach the ISIS activists. However, no official word has been received about the kind of information that was extracted from the professors.
