Leader Of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir today said that Digvijaya Singh had sufficient evidence for his comments, and was accepting the challenge of the TRS. He would furnish the details to the investigation agency, he said.
Shabbir Ali was referring to the tweets by Singh that the Telangana police was operating a website that was luring Muslim youth of the state to join ISIS. The comments by Singh had riled the TRS leaders in the state, and led to the Hyderabad police filing a criminal complaint against him under three sections.
Singh had welcomed the case, and even sought that KCR be made a witness.
Shabbir Ali also alleged that the TRS government, which showed so much pride when its police force was accused, had failed to live up to the promises made in its election manifesto. He said that the TRS government had, for example, failed to develop Hyderabad as promised.
"Hyderabad's Swachch Bharat ranking has dropped to 22 whereas Vizag stands 3rd and Tirupathi 9th," he said.
He pointed out that the MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao had promised to develop Hyderabad on the lines of New York, Dallas and Istanbul, but had miserably failed. He challenged KTR to a debate on the development of the city in the past three years.
