Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vidyasagar Rao on Tuesday demanded that the State Election Commission intensify its efforts to keep in check the influence of money power in the by-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies to be held on May 8th.
Talking to media persons at his party office in Nampally, the senior leader stated that the Election Commission should order a probe into the money seized in Nellore and Kadapa, as doubts are being raised that the money was meant for buying votes.
Vidyasagar Rao further demanded that a probe be ordered into the allegations leveled by Congress candidate D L Ravindra Reddy that YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was involved in Anantapur TDP MLA Paritala Ravi's murder in 2005. (INN)
