Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today said that Telangana residents would be prioritised for the new housing plots in Chitrapuri, an area designated for film professionals.
He also reiterated the State government's plan to allocate 800 square yards of land to the Film Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking at a program after attending the oath-taking ceremony of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce's Executive Body, the minister extended his congratulations to Ramakrishna Gowda, who had been elected Chairman for a sixth term, and commended Gowda's dedication to supporting the film community in the State.
He said that the State government was committed to promoting the film industry within Telangana, supporting local filmmakers and boosting the regional film ecosystem.
"The Telangana government is determined to develop the film industry. I extend support to small filmmakers, especially those looking for theatre space," he said.
He added that the film industry was not exclusive to a select few, and praised the contributions of Telangana-based filmmakers, including the makers of Maa Bhoomi to Balagam.
