Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Puttaparthi on Tuesday to pay his last respects to the late Sathya Sai Baba whose body has been kept in the Sai Kulwanth Hall in Prashathi Nilayam.
Sathya Sai Baba had passed away on Sunday from multiple-organ failure after battling for his life for 28 days. He was admitted to the Sri Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Medical Sciences on March 28th.
The state government has ordered the Deputy Inspector General (Security) Sandeep Shandilya to oversee the security arrangements for the Prime Minister's visit to Puttaparthi.
The Prime Minister grieved the passing away of Sathya Sai Baba, and described him as a spiritual leader who had inspired millions to lead a moral and meaningful life even as they followed the religion of their choice.
"His teachings were rooted in the universal ideals of truth, righteous conduct, peace, love and non-violence," Dr. Manmohan Singh stated.
Describing Sathya Sai Baba as a preacher of the highest human values, the Prime Minister said that Baba had endeared himself to the people through various institutions, and had promoted egalitarian values, education and public healthcare.
"Baba believed that it is the duty of every person to ensure that all people have access to the basic requirements for the sustenance of life," the Prime Minister added.
"The passing away of Sathya Sai Baba is an irreparable loss to all, particularly to the nation", he stated.
According to sources, the Prime Minister will arrive in Puttaparthi on Tuesday, and will leave on the same day after paying homage to the spiritual leader. (INN)
