President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to stay in Hyderabad until July 8, at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in Bollaram.
During his 10-day sojourn, the President is expected to pay a visit to Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateshwara in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, on July 1. And upon his return to Hyderabad, the President will attend a program to receive the first copy of a book "Uniki" authored by Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao at HICC on July 3.
According to the information, the President will also launch "Nakshatra Vaatika" at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
Mukherjee may attend some other programs too in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other states as per his schedule, and participate in other developmental activities.
Upon directions from Governor E S L Narsimhan, officials of the state government and the top police brass of Telangana have made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the President has a comfortable and secure stay. Military officials and special security officials of the President took over the entire Bollaram area to provide foolproof security.
The President's visit, though routine every year, now assumes significance as the heads of two Telugu states K Chandrashekar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu are at loggerheads over the infamous note-for-vote case.
It is also likely that the leaders of various parties will make a beeline to meet the President. (NSS)
