Former MLA Gone Prakash Rao today wrote an open letter to Ramoji Rao, accusing him of encroachment and asking him not to portray himself as a paragon of virtue.
"Do you follow any values in your daily life? Why don't you follow the principles that you espouse for others?" Prakash Rao asked in his letter.
Rao alleged that for the last 15 years Ramoji Rao had been in possession of land which belonged to the weaker sections.
"Under survey numbers 189 and 203 in Naganpalli village, 14 acres and 30 guntas of land were allotted to the weaker sections of the society. With your political influence, you encroached upon this land of the poor for 15 years. A 13-km government road from Anajpur to Ibrahimpatnam was occupied for the Ramoji Film City. Due to this, the distances to Koheda and Ibrahimpatnam have increased, and people are facing difficulties. 90,000 people in 16 villages are facing a lot of difficulties because you are encroaching on a government road," he alleged.
He asked Ramoji Rao how he could justify the encroachment of a public road and putting many people including students to huge difficulty. "Government roads are not your estate. If you don't want the common man to see your empire, build huge walls. But it is ridiculous, not to mention cruel, to encroach on government roads so that people don't come to your property," he said.
Prakash Rao said that he was giving Ramoji Rao a deadline of March 31, 2024, to return the "government lands".
"Ramoji Rao is a coward and afraid of death. The lands occupied by him should be taken over. He should return the government lands within the deadline. Otherwise, I will put up bulldozers and demolish his walls," Prakash Rao warned Ramoji Rao.
