Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar gave an ultimatum to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to take action against Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy by March 1st.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Ponnam said that the CM should dismiss Jagadish Reddy from the State cabinet and order a probe into the allegations of the receipt of kickbacks from colleges to clear the latters' fee reimbursement dues.
He said that if the government failed to take any action by 1st March, then the Telangana Congress leaders would submit all details, along with proof, to the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau seeking action against the minister.
Ponnam claimed that he had sufficient evidence to prove his charges, and therefore was not worried about facing any legal action threatened by Jagadish Reddy.
The Congress leader also urged KCR to get more railway projects and funds for Telangana.
He said that the Chief Minister had been getting closer to the BJP government at the Centre, and he should utilise his relations to get more benefits for the state. Else, it would appear that KCR's proximity with the Centre was aimed at making personal gains and not for Telangana.
Ponnam also condemned the restrictions imposed on the entry of media persons into the state secretariat. (INN)
