Congress Decides On 5 MLC Candidates
Sitting MLC Ponguleti has recieved a shot at retaining his seat, while the remaining 4 names include Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, Shabbir Ali, Santosh Kumar and Lakshmi Sivakumari.
After days of discussion with its High Command, the Congress party in the state has finally rounded up five candidates for the upcoming elections to the Legislative Council.
AICC secretary and current MLC Ponguleti Sudhkar Reddy has recieved a chance at retaining his seat, while the remaining four names include Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, Shabbir Ali, Santosh Kumar and Lakshmi Sivakumari.
Vizianagaram District In-charge of Congress, Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy shares a well-known camaraderie with APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, and Botsa apparently did his best to push him for a candidnate.
As a matter of fact, several state Congress leaders have been accusing Botsa and CM Kiran Kumar Reddy of indulging in cronyism with their recomendations for MLC candidature.
