A police constable deputed at the residence of Andhra Pradesh opposition leader and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad tested positive for the coronavirus.
The constable, who hails from Bapatla of Guntur district, came to Hyderabad on May 5 and discharged security duties till June 7. He returned to his home later.
The constable, who also works at the Bapatla police station, developed coronavirus symptoms. This prompted the authorities to send his samples for testing, and the results were positive.
The authorities have come to the conclusion that he contracted the virus through a colleague, another constable.
