The Jangaon police today busted the proposed "deeksha" by Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar condemning the arrest of his party workers who had protested at the residence of TRS MLC K Kavitha on Monday, at Pamnur of Station Ghanpur Mandal of Jangaon district.
The BJP activists present at the area strongly protested the attempts of the police to arrest Kumar. However, the police dispersed them and took control of Kumar.
They took Kumar into preventive custody and forcibly made him sit in a police vehicle. They later took him to his residence in Karimnagar.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah called up Kumar following the arrest and enquired about his condition. Sanjay narrated the incidents that led to his arrest by the police.
Union Minister For Tourism & Culture G Kishan Reddy too condemned the arrest of Kumar. Speaking to media persons, he claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was feeling insecure and therefore illegally arresting their party leaders.
He also alleged that the CMO was directly provoking the TRS MLAs, MPs and ministers to obstruct the padayatra of Kumar.
