The discussions between the Telangana Petrol and Diesel Tankers Owners Association and Commercial Taxes Department Commissioner Anil Kumar on Sunday failed.
The Association announced that the bandh would therefore be observed from Sunday midnight as it had announced earlier.
According the Association leaders, more than 7,000 tankers would participate in the strike across Telangana.
It may be recalled that the Telangana Petrol and Diesel Tankers Owners Association had announced that it will observe a bandh from the midnight of May 29 in case the State government failed to withdraw the 14.5% tax on tanker services.
