TP JAC's Plan Unconstitutional: LSP
The Lok Satta Party termed the Joint Action Committee's (JAC) plan to conduct 'the monthly rites of the dead Legislative Assembly' as 'blatantly unconstitutional'.
The Lok Satta Party (LSP) on Monday termed the Joint Action Committee's (JAC) plan to conduct 'the monthly rites of the dead Legislative Assembly' on March 17 as 'blatantly unconstitutional'.
In a media statement, Lok Satta Party Working President D V V S Varma said that he regretted that the BJP and TRS members would be associating themselves with the action plan of TPJAC Chairman Kodandaram.
Varma said that the action plan has shocked all those who believe in the Constitution and democracy. Such an adventure will be welcome only to those who believe in extra parliamentary means, constitutional crises and anarchic violence.
The proposal mirrors the deteriorating situation in Andhra Pradesh and highlights how movements launched to accomplish an objective go astray (the attacks in Assembly, general shut-downs, and vandalism).
Varma also said that there would only be anarchy if the Constitution and the legislatures are given a burial. He appealed to all supporters of the Telangana movement and believers in democracy to raise their voice against such adventurism.
He reiterated his demand that the government take an initiative to hold a debate in the legislature on the Telangana demand and arrive at a solution acceptable to all regions of the State.

There is no democracy when 4 crore people are asking for separate state and no progress is being made in that direction for past 1 yr. When there is no democracy then last rites is the right thing to do.
