Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Convenor Kodandaram said that the government had deceived the TRS by shifting its MLAs from the Assembly.

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Convenor Kodandaram, along with senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union minister Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, staged a dharna on Saturday in front of Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park to protest against the government's delay in lifting of police cases against students involved in the pro-Telangana agitations.
Speaking to media persons, Prof. Kodandaram said that though the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs had resorted to democratic means, and raised the issue on the Floor of the House, the government had resorted to backdoor means and had arrested them.
Prof. Kodandaram said that the TRS MLAs had later met Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, who had assured them that she would look into the issue.
The Telangana ideologue stated that the issue of lifting of cases still hounded the state even after assurances by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and the state government.
Prof. Kodandaram added that the government had 'enacted a drama on the Floor of the House', and had later deceived the TRS by shifting its MLAs from the Assembly.
He warned the government that if the cases were not lifted immediately, the pro-Telangana activists in the region would resort to agitations, and make life miserable for the government.
Turning his attention to the statement by Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan in the Assembly on Friday, Prof Kodandaram expressed his surprise that such a learned person could make such a statement. He said that Dr. Narayan's statement was against the interests of Telangana, and against the interest of justice.
The JAC Convenor said that the statement sounded as if Dr. Narayan had become the mouthpiece of Andhra leaders, and warned the Lok Satta chief that he should mend his ways.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Vidyasagar Rao said that a conspiracy was being hatched against Telangana in the Assembly.
He said that the Telangana protagonists would not keep quiet while the conspiracy was being hatched and enacted.
