State minister Dokka Manikyavara Prasad, on Saturday, requested the Centre and the Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to revoke the suspension of 17 Seemandhra MPs from the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to media personnel in Assembly premises, Dokka said that it would be unfair to debate the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in the absence of Seemandhra MPs. Therefore, he said that the suspension of all 17 MPs should be revoked to enable them to express their views on the statehood issue.
Dokka also dismissed the possibilities of Chief Minsiter N Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new political party. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy would never revolt against AICC President Sonia Gandhi who made him the Chief Minister.
He also condemned the
violent incidents which had occurred in the Lok Sabha on Thursday and demanded that steps should be taken to avoid such incidents in future.
He also condemned the comparing of Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal to Bhagat Singh. He said that Rajagopal's intentions were right, but that his methods were wrong.
Dokka said that he did not receive the invite for the meeting of Seemandhra legislators convened by the Chief Minister to take place on Sunday. (INN)
