Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary G Niranjan condemned MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi for blaming Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his arrests in a
case booked against him in 2005 in Muthangi village of Medak district during the regime of late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
"Why was Asaduddin Owaisi silent when the case was booked at that time, and abstain from attending the court after getting bail in the year 2009? Now, he is trying to misguide people for his personal and political gains," Niranjan accused.
The PCC General Secretary alleged that the Owaisi brothers have always considered themselves above the law, and have no respect for courts. "Owaisi created the Bhagya Laxmi Temple issue without respecting court orders. Now his arrest for not appearing in the court clearly indicates his disrespect towards the honorable courts," he opined.
Niranjan further alleged that Owaisi himself was "communal", and the latter's allegations against the Chief Minister were far from the truth. He demanded that the state government deal firmly with these "communal forces" as they have been trying to "disturb peace" and "create unrest" among the people, especially the "innocent Muslims".
