"Yevari Rajadhani Amaravathi" (whose capital is Amaravathi), a book in Telugu written by former chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh I Y R Krishna Rao, will be released by actor and Jana Sena founder-president Pawan Kalyan on April 5 in Vijayawada.
Disclosing this to the media, Rao said that the book had a lot of background to and facts about the upcoming AP capital, starting with the Sivaramakrishna committee recommendations on land acquisition for the capital.
"My book deals with the recommendations made by the Sivaramakrishna committee, the thousands of acres of land polling done for Amaravathi and the Swiss challenge. There is a scholarly discussion comparing Amaravathi's development with that of other national and international capital cities," he said.
The outspoken retired IAS officer also mentioned that he had clear and specific opinions in regards to building a capital city, and that there were differences between his opinions and those of the state government on several issues.
For example, he said that he did not feel that it was proper for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to borrow for the capital city. The state government might end up in a debt trap after spending one lakh crore rupees to giving a good look to Amaravathi, and there was no need to spend so much on the capital, he opined.
Rao also said that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had done a lot for residual Andhra Pradesh.
Rao said the book has been dedicated to Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao with the latter's consent, and that it would be launched on April 5 at the Makineni Basavapunnaiah Bhavan in Vijayawada by Pawan Kalyan.
