The 6th death anniversary of former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA from Anantapur, Paritala Ravi, was observed at his native Venkatapuram village in Anantapur district on Monday.
Thousands of his supporters and family members made their way to his Samadhi and paid rich floral tributes amidst bhajans.
Paritala Ravi's widow, Paritala Sunitha, and children were also present.
Tummala Nageswara Rao and Lal Jan Basha represented Telugu Desam Party. They also paid floral tributes to the departed factionist-turned-MLA. On the occasion, they recalled his services to the state, particularly to Anantapur district.
A blood donation camp was organized in the village while free meals were served to the poor.
Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu paid homage to the slain MLA at the NTR Trust Bhavan.
Speaking later, Naidu alleged that the Congress Party had been encouraging criminals to suppress all dissenting voices for its vested interests.
He also regretted that despite his government's efforts to bring Paritala Ravi's killers to justice, the Congress had let the case go into cold storage after coming to power.
He also said that all those who had been suspected to have a hand in the slain MLA's killing were also eliminated one after the other.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to crack the murder case of Maddelacheruvu Suri, the prime accused in the murder of Ravi.
