BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy's interrogation, scheduled for today at the Banjara Hills police station, was postponed.
Reddy had been served notices by the police in connection with a case filed against him for obstructing police officials in their duties and misbehaving with officers.
In the notices, he was asked to appear before the Banjara Hills PS SHO for interrogation.
However, Reddy informed the police that he could not attend as his father had been admitted to a hospital due to ill health.
He informed the police that the doctors had advised heart surgery for his father, and that he would be unavailable for 10 days due to his father's condition.
The Banjara Hills police acknowledged his request and rescheduled the interrogation to January 6, 2025.
For the unversed, Reddy, along with several BRS leaders, visited the Banjara Hills police station on October 4 to file a complaint alleging that the Chief Minister was tapping his mobile phone.
At the time of Reddy's arrival, the SHO K M Raghavendra was preparing to leave for some urgent work, and told Reddy that he would address the complaint upon his return.
However, Reddy and the BRS leaders blocked the SHO's car, insisting that the complaint be taken immediately. Raghavendra attempted to assure them that the complaint would be handled later, but Reddy allegedly made a scathing remark telling the SHO to wear a Congress scarf if he intended to continue his duties. An argument then ensued between the police personnel and Reddy, and a case was subsequently registered at the police station against Reddy and several BRS leaders for obstructing police officials from carrying out their duties.
Reddy was arrested at his residence in Kondapur on December 6 and taken to the Banjara Hills police station. He was later escorted to Osmania Hospital for a medical examination before being presented before a judge that evening. The judge had granted Reddy bail following the hearing.
