Former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao, on Friday, lodged a complaint against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and executive members of Congress Legislature Party Office, under the SC/ST Atrocity Act, for
not allowing him to speak at the CLP office.
Talking to media persons at the CLP office, the former minister said that he has decided to lodge a complaint against the Chief Minister and the CLP's executive members, with the Hyderabad city police, under SC/ST Atrocity Act. He said that the leaders were discriminating against him as he is a Dalit.
He accused the CM and other leaders of suppressing his constitutional rights.
"The CLP has been showing discrimination against Dalit MLAs, and violating their constitutional rights," he alleged.
He reiterated that he would move a privilege motion in the Assembly, seeking protection of his constitutional rights.
Accusing the Congress of giving preference to the leaders of upper castes, he alleged that Dalits are being neglected in the party. He said that discrimination was the main reason why Dalits and minority communities were quitting the party to join other groups. (INN)
