OU Students On Warpath, Storm Petrol Pump Today

A day after they attacked the Swagat Grand Hotel, which they claimed was an unauthorized construction on Osmania University land, irate students of the university attacked a petrol bunk on Tuesday.

The unrelenting OU students marched to the petrol bunk and tried to ransack it. However, the cops foiled their attempt, and several students were arrested.

Meanwhile, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) warned the government of intensification of their agitation if Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not give up his plans of gifting away Osmania University lands in the name of housing to the poor and the homeless.

It may be mentioned here that on Monday, the ABVP activists had staged a bare-chested protest in front of the University Arts College. The Telangana Unemployed Students Joint Action Committee too announced that it would organize a massive public meeting on June 1 and would boycott the Telangana Formation Day festivities if KCR decided to give away OU lands.
