The undercurrent of anger at the government is evident at the examination centres where PG students of colleges affiliated to the Osmania University have called for a boycott of the semester examinations. Students are demanding a Telangana Bill in the budget session of Parliament.
The students, under the aegis of Osmania University Joint Action Committee, staged a massive rally in the University campus, raising 'Jai Telangana' slogans, demanding postponement of semester examinations until the Centre introduces a Telangana bill in Parliament.
The OUJAC also gave a call to students from PG colleges affiliated to OU, to boycott exams.
Protesting students were seen having heated arguments with the police.
University officials, however, stated the semester exams would be held as per schedule since they had already been postponed twice.
Meanwhile, the police imposed Section 144 at all examination centres to prevent untoward incidents.
At Nakrekal and Warangal, students tore up their hall tickets to express their anger at the government's decision to go ahead with the examinations.
At Siddipet and Sangareddy in Medak district, students boycotting the exams took out a rally and staged a rasta roko at Ambedkar Circle. They demanded the resignation of elected representatives to express their solidarity with the Telangana agitation.
The students' anger that the government was adamant about conducting the examinations despite their protests has been simmering ever since the 'diplomatic'
options given by the Justice Srikrishna Committee were made public.
