The National Institutional Ranking Framework 2022 (NIRF 2022) results were released today by the Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Prasad in New Delhi.
Osmania University has been ranked 22nd in the Universities category, and 46th in the Overall category.
Osmania retained its position as the best State government university in Telangana.
"It is great that Osmania University has been ranked amongst the top universities in India. This ranking is an improvement over that of the last year, and will boost the image of the university and its perception amongst the stakeholders," remarked Prof D Ravinder, Vice-Chancellor of the university.
He congratulated the faculty, research scholars, students and other stakeholders of the university for the achievement.
The University of Hyderabad ranked 10th in Universities, and 20th in Overall. IISc (Bengaluru) was ranked first, JNU (New Delhi) was ranked second and Jamia Millia Islamia (New Delhi) was ranked third in Universities. IIT Madras, IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay were the top three ranked institutes under Overall.
The University College of Engineering has been ranked 117 in the Engineering Colleges category. IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay top this category.
