HC issues orders to re-open the hostels and messes on the strife-ridden campus
Hyderabad | 29th December 2009
Justice Narsimha Reddy has ordered for OU’s hostels and messes to be re-opened, in order to take the plight of the boraders there into account. The government had, earlier, shut down these places, in the wake of a bandh call by Telangana agitators from the Osmania campus.

Last night and this morning saw community meals being partaken of on the Arts College campus, with volunteers cooking and arranging for food for hosteliers. The JAC had threatened the government to re-open the hostels and messes by today, failing which it would open its own mess.
