Telangana Municipal Administration and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today urged Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to take steps for the opening of 21 roads closed in the Secunderabad cantonment area.
On his Twitter handle, KTR tagged Reddy while responding to a post by a netizen about the closures of the roads causing much inconvenience to the vehicle users and the general public.
Expressed displeasure that the Centre was not addressing the issue despite repeated appeals, KTR urged Reddy to prevail upon the Centre and ensure that the 21 roads were reopened for public use.
Claiming that he (KTR) had already urged the Centre and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue, KTR said that Reddy should now take up the matter with the Centre and Singh.
KTR also slammed Union Minister Ajay Bhat for informing Parliament that only two roads were closed in the Cantonment area, and gave a list of 21 roads to Reddy.
KTR also demanded that the Cantonment area be merged with the GHMC for more roads and development.
