Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao today said that two Omicron cases were detected in the state, and exhorted the people to wear masks and follow the coronavirus protocols.
Addressing a program at Siddipet district, the minister said that with the dreaded novel coronavirus variant reaching the state, the people should be more cautious, and wear masks in addition to getting themselves fully vaccinated.
"The government is prepared to tackle Omicron and other Covid-19 issues in the state. We are taking all possible measures, and equipping the government hospitals with better medical facilities and expert doctors. However we do, however, the cases of Omicron might rise in the future in the state as they are increasing in other states and countries. And the safest ways to avoid it are to wear masks, keep sanitizing hands and keep maintaining social distance," the minister said.
He appealed to the people to educate others in their neighbourhood to wear masks, and take both doses of the vaccines.
