Srilakshmi's Bail Plea On 21 Feb

Srilakshmi's bail is once again rejected by the court, as per the wishes of the CBI.

The Supreme Court, on Monday, posted the hearing for the bail petition of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi to 21 February.

Srilakshmi was arrested by the Central Bureau Of Investigation in connection to the illegal iron ore mining case of the Obulapuram Mining Corporation.

While issuing these directions, the court directed the CBI to file the chargesheet for the OMC case before 15 February.

The bench said that the CBI should come along with the chargesheet for the next hearing on 21 February.

Srilakshmi's council had sought bail by citing her deteriorating health condition.

However, the CBI opposed the bail, stating that Srilakshmi's release would hamper the progress of the case, which is at a critical stage.

The CBI counsel also contended that Srilakshmi was submitting fake health certificates to obtain bail. (INN)
