Long queues of people were seen in front of banks and ATMs in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, even 24 days after the demonetization of the 500 and 1,000 currency notes.
"No cash, no payments" boards greeted customers at several banks, disappointing them and forcing them to scorn the Union government, banks, and the RBI. People were upset that the myriad promises made by authorities on the supply of adequate notes to meet the former's needs remained unfulfilled.
As per reports, some banks in the city have not received their cash flows yet, and even in those banks that received, the quantum has been too small, and disbursed within an hour of their opening, leaving droves of customers in the lurch.
At several other banks, people waited for cash to arrive, but to no avail.
Some blamed the Centre for the debacle while others said that the fiasco was bearable.
