City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, on Monday, made it clear that prior permission from the police department is necessary to organize or conduct any meetings, processions, padayatras, rallies or mobile publicity campaigns within the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in view of ensuing general elections which are going to be held on April 30.
The Zonal Dy. Commissioners in whose jurisdiction the proposed meetings, processions, padayatras or rallies are proposed to be held will grant permission to organize or conduct such events, Anurag Sharma declared.
The organizers, the political parties involved and the contesting candidates should also obtain permission for the use of loud speakers.
They are also requested to co-operate with the city police in ensuring strict compliance of the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India during the elections.
He also ordered that no political party should open an election party office within (100) meters of the existing office of another political party. (INN)
