Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) Convenor Kodandaram on Tuesday made it clear that police permission for the Million March was not required as the proposed rally would be organized peacefully in the capital on March 10th.
Talking to media persons at JAC office at the New MLA Quarters in Adarshnagar, Prof. Kodandaram stated that the Million March will be organized after the completion of intermediate examination scheduled on March 10th. He said that the leaders from Telangana will take a pledge to unite and fight for a separate statehood at the Tank Bund at 4 pm on March 10th, where the Million March will culminate.
Prof. Kodandaram said that the March will not cause any inconvenience to students, and asked the police not to obstruct it since it is being organized to press for the introduction of the Telangana bill in the Parliament. He called upon all Telangana activists to participate widely in the Million March and make it a grand success.
The TPJAC chief also condemned the police for resorting to arresting of student leaders as a precautionary measure. Prof. Kodandaram demanded the immediate release of arrested student leaders.
Earlier, Prof. Kodandaram met Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and appealed to her to direct the police not to obstruct the March, and sought her permission to hold the proposed rally.

Million March does not mean bringing the city to a halt, it is a peaceful march to glorify the movement, a million people coming together making a united appeal expressing solidarity and strength for one cause that is Telangana. It might send jitters among few Andhra politicians, but the movement has gone into the people and when people rise up to the occasion nothing can stop the movement. If the Andhra people have any shame and self respect let them do a million march no one is stopping them.
