The annual fish prasadam organiser Bathini Harinath Goud today said that his family wouldn't hold the fish prasadam distribution this year on Mrugasira, which falls on June 8 & 9.
He said that the coronavirus had rattled the entire world including India, and that the virus did not have any medicine or vaccine yet, making it unlikely that people would want to risk turning up for a public event of the scale of the fish prasadam administration.
He also said that the World Health Organization and various governments of the world were not in a position to announce that the virus had slowed down.
Goud said that therefore the fish prasadam administration, believed to cure asthma, would not happen this year, and requested the people of the country to not come to Hyderabad for the medicine.
He also urged the public to not believe any rumours that the prasadam would be distributed this year.
