Addressing a gathering after filing his nomination on behalf of the Congress from the Kodangal Assembly constituency, TPCC President Revanth Reddy today said that KCR had cheated the people of Kodangal, and that there had been no development in the region under the BRS regime.
"If justice had been done to the area, why did you (KCR) not respond to the people's request to come to Kodangal and show your achievements? If the Krishna waters had indeed been distributed, and if women's and engineering colleges had indeed been built in Kosgi, the people would have believed you. However, there have been no such developments," said Reddy.
He asked how the BRS, which had deceived the people in the current stint, could ask for votes in the constituency again. He also said that it was the responsibility of all the people to bring the Congress to power in the State.
Reddy said that he was thankful to the party and the people of Kodangal that he got the opportunity to lead the State unit of the Congress, and that the post was not his alone but belonged to every child in Kodangal. He urged the people to give him a mandate surpassing that of D K Shivakumar, who was responsible for the Congress' landslide victory in Karnataka.
He added that the Telangana elections this time were being held between the people of Kodangal and KCR, and that they were not just elections of hope but elections that could bring about a change in the lives of the people. He also said that the election would give recognition to Kodangal on the country's map.
