Nizamabad MP K Kavitha today rubbished the allegations by Telangana TDP leaders that Telangana Jagruthi was involved in irregularities.
Speaking at a program, Kavitha said that the TDP was levelling false allegations against Jagruthi as part of nasty politics.
"Just like the Basava Tarakam Cancer Trust, Jagruthi is also offering services to the people on humanitarian grounds," she said.
"Jagruthi gets support from NRIs, and will continue to offer services to the poor," she added.
She also said that Jagruthi would offer Rs 2,500 per month to the next of kin of the deceased farmers.
She stated that the government had got information about 798 farmers committing suicides in the State, and that ex-gratia was paid to 309 of them so far. She said that Jagruthi had decided to offer monthly amounts for four years to 389 families who did not get financial assistance from the government.
On the agitating Asha workers' issue, the TRS MP said that the matter was under the purview of the Centre. The State government could not take a decision on the demand by Asha workers for a pay hike, she said, and advised them to resume duties and that the TRS government could take up their issue with the Centre.
She also said that elaborate arrangements had been being made for the State festival "Bathukamma" from October 12.
