Telangana Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today noted that the cooperative sector played a key role in strengthening the state's financial development and in bolstering its rural economy.
At a meeting, Reddy urged the workers of the sector to devote themselves to the cause of the development of the state, and assured them that he would try to get them promoted for their hard work.
"I understand that promotions are important. So far, some officials and staff of the cooperative sector have already been elevated to better posts. Soon, others too will get promoted," he assured the workers.
The minister also said that the employees and staff in the cooperative department would get "timely promotions" and other benefits.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is committed to developing the cooperative sector. He is also concerned about the workers of the sector. Their interests will be kept in mind," the minister reiterated.
"Our government spends huge funds on the all-round development of the state. Our government prioritises the welfare of the people and has introduced several programs for this. These schemes are being appreciated and replicated by other states. We recognise the role of government workers in taking these schemes to the beneficiaries," he added.
The sector has been in the news after the Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank Limited was recently recognised nationally for its work. It was ranked first after the cooperative banks of 33 states and UTs were assessed.
