The Congress on Tuesday slammed the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for its controversial remarks on the Bhagyalakshmi Temple.
"The remarks of CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu on the Bhagyalakshmi Temple hurt the sentiments of Hindus, and are deplorable," PCC general secretary G Niranjan said, adding, "We should learn to respect the sentiments of Hindus, and such remarks only give an indication that the CPM is moving closer to the MIM.
Niranjan said that the Congress does not have a "tacit understanding" with the BJP. He said, "What made Raghavulu react on Bhagyalakshmi temple, when he opted to be silent on Akbaruddin's issue?" (INN)
