The state government has decided to act tough against the companies which have failed to utilise the land allotted to them for different projects.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the Palnadu Revenue Complex in Guntur, Revenue minister Dr. N Raghuveera Reddy said that a new policy was being drafted to make private companies accountable to the government for the land allotted to them.
Stating that the process of land allotment to private companies was erroneous, he said that the government would soon issue notices to the erring private parties, and that the government might even take back the allotted land from the companies if they fail to respond satisfactorily.
Raghuveera Reddy also said that the Guntur District Collector has been asked to serve notices to 5 cement companies (to whom nearly 10,000 acres of land in the Palnadu area were allotted) for their failure to start the projects that they were scheduled to start, and to provide employment. (INN)
