Vizag Land For Industrial Promotion
Much of the government land in Visakhapatnam district has been allotted to various agencies for industrial, IT and tourism.

The state government, on Monday, said that a major portion of the government land in Visakhapatnam district has been allotted to various agencies for industrial, IT and tourism development, and for the mobilisation of resources.
In a written answer to a question raised by MLA V Ramakrishna Babu in the state Legislative Assembly, Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy informed the House that an extent of 2,217.29 acres of land was allotted to APIIC for industrial promotion during the years 2003, 2004 and 2008.
Similarly, 3,142.07 acres from the years 2000 to 2011 were allotted for 589 industrial units in the district.
The AP Tourism Development has allotted 124 acres of land on a 33-year lease to managements of 8 hotels and resorts during the years 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2010, for tourism promotion.
The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority has auctioned 339.19 acres of land during the years 2007 and 2008, for resource mobilisation, and an amount of Rs. 1,200.33 crore was realised to the state budget. (INN)
