New Facilities Inaugurated At Ameerpet Metro Station

HMRL MD N V S Reddy today launched "e-Bikes", and inaugurated an art exhibition, a Local Café restaurant and a Dadu's Mithai - On The Way store at the Ameerpet Metro interchange station.
He also said that a lot more facilities and activity centres would come up at the Metro rail stations in the coming few months, making them busy hotspots in the city.
e-Bikes are electric scooters being made available by a startup named Metro Bikes, which is already operating scooters on self-drive rental modes at the Nagole, Parade Grounds, Secunderabad, Rasoolpura, Begumpet and Miyapur metro stations. The electric scooters can be charged from any electrical plug point. These bikes which will be made available at all the Metro stations in the next few months can be taken by anyone with a driving license for a rental charge of Rs. 4 per km during the day and just Rs. 1 per km during the night. Metro commuters can also take these bikes home and keep them overnight and come to the Metro stations the next morning without any additional rental charge.
Local Café is a restaurant chain by a startup promoted by Aparna Reddy of GVK industries. The brand is seen at many airports. These restaurants too will be extended to all the Metro stations in the near future.
Dadu's Mithai offers sweets, chocolates, pastries, bread products, pizzas, pastas and desserts.
The art exhibition by local artist Hari & his wife Anitha has an array of paintings depicting various lifestyles, moods and forms, and will be on display for the next 10 days at the Ameerpet interchange station. Reddy said that as advised by Governor E S L Narasimhan, the Metro stations would soon host several art exhibitions.
