For N D Tiwari, disgraced-until-proven-otherwise Governor of Andhra Pradesh
embroiled in a sex scandal, it was an unfortunate case of too much, too soon.
AP has been boiling for 4 weeks now with the Telangana issue, and there is non-negligible opinion now that the state will be brought under President's Rule soon. A popularly accepted pre-requisite for that is shunting Tiwari out, since at 85 years of age and barely in a position to move (as seen on TV footage of the Governor that the Honorable HC will allow), he was seen as hardly capable of directly ruling a state that needs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation now.
So it can be speculated that it was a matter of a few more days before he found a less demanding Raj Bhavan than the one in Hyderabad. A place with less gleeful (okay, let's be fair - courageous) news channels, lesser job description, and, well, more variety - the same Raj Bhavan means the same staff.
Like we said, it was too much, too soon - if the relevations had waited a few more weeks by when he would be merely a speck in the country's memory, they would have been but a weak blip on news monitors, dying even before they even made it out of their shells.
At this time, they're drowning even the T-updates. Indeed, before it capitulated to an all-powerful HC injunction banning the airing of any footage of the Governor that might show him in dim light (no pun intended), the enterprising ABN Andhra Jyothi was by all accounts just warming up. It spoke of internal accounts of how the man in question used to start his day demanding a full-body massage by supple women, needed two others for lunch and two to retire, plus some to wash them down. And how when there were important people holding important meetings downstairs, he would be engaged in even more important activities in a bedroom upstairs, dropping by just for a few minutes to get a quick brief. His argument might have been that he doesn't really need briefs in the Raj Bhavan.
Tiwari has been hit by paternity claims even earlier, but nothing that had video proof, and nothing in this league of sleaze. He will clearly be the butt of jokes for a while to come - see comments on the poll of this website itself. Added to that, if he goes into history as the first Governor of an Indian state to lose office for sleeping around, the graphic videos of the geriatric sex are available on the web (as they will almost undoubtedly be in some time), there are criminal cases against him, and he loses all family support, only complete senility can save him from a breakdown.
Unfortunately, at this time, that seems to be the only bright spot on the horizon for him.
